Titi & Yuting present at SPIE Optics+Photonics conference

PhD students Titilope Dada and Yuting Li presented their research at the recent SPIE Optics+Photonics conference!

Titi described her work on direct measurements of thermal emission from coated refractory metals, which could be used as emitters for thermophotovoltaic devices. These measurements are very challenging, and Titi is developing new ways to accurately and reliably perform them. Yuting described his work on the fabrication of nanogaps between silicon substrates, which could be used for near-field thermophotovoltaics. This could allow higher power density and efficiency to be achieved with lower temperature heat sources.
