Prof. Tervo gave a talk at the 5th International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (NanoRad 2024) in Sapporo, Japan, titled “Demonstration of Scalable Large-Area Near-Field Thermophotovoltaics.” This described work with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to create a thermophotovoltaic (TPV) device with ~5 mm x 5mm lateral dimensions and a 150 nm gap between the emitter and cell. The device is the largest-area and highest-power nanogap TPV device created to date! More details can be found in a manuscript preprint available on arXiv.
