In a new paper published in Advanced Energy Materials led by our collaborators at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, we demonstrate low bandgap photovoltaic cells grown on InP and GaAs substrates. These can be used for low temperature thermal energy conversion applications as thermophotovoltaic devices or for laser power conversion in the 2.0 – 2.3 μm atmospheric window. ETC lab member and electrical engineering Ph.D. student Titilope Dada conducted the FTIR spectroscopy measurements for this study.
